Cannoli
Originating in Sicily centuries ago, this delicious dessert is now a staple
of Sicilian cuisine. The word itself means "little tube", describing
the shape and size of the pastry, which is a roll of fried pasta filled with
sweet cream made primarily of riccota cheese.
Ingredients (Makes 12 cannolis)
- Three pounds riccota cheese
- 1.75 cups of confectioner's sugar
- 0.5 teaspoons cinnamon
- .23 cups semisweet mini chocolate chips
- 12 cannoli shells
- 0.5 cups melted chocolate
- 0.5 cups chopped pistachios
Directions
Evenly mix the cheese, sugar, chocolate chips, and cinnamon.
Stuff into shells.
Dip one end of cannoli in melted chocolate and roll in pistachios.
