Bruscetta
There are many types of bruscetta, a form of antipasti from the Southern
italian region. Bruscetta mainly involves special roasted or hard bread.
This type calls for Tuscan bread, a kind of unsalted bread which originated
in Tuscania, Italy.
Ingredients
- Tuscan bread
- Tomatoes or tomato sauce
- Garlic
- Oregano
- Basil
- Black Pepper
- Oil
- Salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Slice out a few one centimeter thick slices from the Tuscan bread
- Put the Tuscan slices in the oven, until they become golden
- Slice tomatoes roughly one centimeter thick, slice into cubes
- Take the bread slices from the oven and rub them with garlic
- Lay the tomato on a thin layer of tomato sauce on the upper side of the bread
- Add oil, oregano, salt, black pepper, and two or three leaves of basil
- Serve hot
